Many people criticize the use of the internet by our children and adolescents, but they do not even know, at least, to give the real reasons for that. Some allege waste of time with endless chats or less time with the family. Or, that children learn nonsense and nothing that goes on the internet. Pure deception.

Fortunately, several studies reveal that the internet cannot be the villain. We must remember that education is done through models, and it is the family that will dictate the way they want to touch the family environment. A family who dines together will rarely fail to do so due to the internet at home. Unless parents give up this moment, considering it unimportant, and then assume that their child will exchange family dinner for the computer. Or that there is no routine, goals and values ​​clearly placed in the family, and then, the teenager will not have a reason to make a hole for the other.

Children who spend time surfing the internet can do better at school and get more knowledge than others. After all, the internet is a means of pure information. Whether they are true or false, it is still up to the reader to make the relationships between the facts and evaluate the veracity. That is, they are using their ability to compare and analyze, they are reading more, discussing more, investigating more. And they still exchange information with other colleagues.

It is up to the family:

• Monitor the use of the internet in order to intervene in its inappropriate use, and not just judge its use as a villain of education;

• Create family moments, in which the routine and well-being of the moment, overcome the needs of being connected;

• Participate in the internet and be an interlocutor of what "rolls" on the internet with your children, showing that you are, in a way, following the technological evolution with your child without prejudice.
